Lesson 3: Masters of the Economy Pt 1 Overview

Mastering the Economy:
Biblical Foundations and Practical Steps

Introduction (10 minutes):

The Church’s Mandate: We are called to occupy and influence the world around us, including the economic sphere.
The Problem: The Church has lost its economic influence, limiting its ability to impact society and expand the Kingdom.

Part 1: Defining Key Terms (15 minutes):

Master: One who has authority, skill, and control over resources and people. Economy: The management of household, community, or national resources. Economic Master: One who uses their skills, knowledge, and resources to fulfill God’s vision and add value to others.

Economic Slave: One whose skills and resources are used to serve another’s vision with little or no return.

Part 2: Biblical Foundations of Economic Mastery (20 minutes):

God’s Original Design: Abundance, fruitfulness, and dominion over resources. The Fall: Loss of dominion, introduction of scarcity and toil.
Cain’s Example: The consequences of disobedience and the importance of community.

Redemption in Christ: Restoration of our God-given authority and ability to prosper.

Part 3: Practical Steps to Economic Mastery (15 minutes):

Develop a Kingdom Mindset: Shift from scarcity to abundance, from consumption to production.
Discover Your Value: Identify your skills, knowledge, and resources.
Negotiate from a Position of Strength: Know your worth and don’t undervalue yourself.

Build Community: Collaborate with others to create and exchange value. Manage Resources Wisely: Budgeting, saving, investing, and giving.
